My experience writing a blog

My final blog reflects this whole experience. For my assignment in IT professional skills in ATU, I had to write blog over six days on something technical based. The reason it had to be tech based is because I am studying software development.  

My biggest challenge was deciding what can I write about. There are two many options. By chance I was gigging in a local pub in Galway, and I needed to use the Ultimate Guitar app to quickly play a song I wasn’t sure of. I thought to myself what a neat application. This was perfect because it incorporated something I love and something I am studying. A new subject we took up this year is application development, and I am thoroughly enjoying it.

This app development subject has opened my eyes to how much work goes into writing up and app. The truth behind a good app is, how user friendly is it?  Are the buttons located in a neat way? Is the app easy to use and will it crash if the user does something different. 

The ultimate guitar app is fantastic. To be able to access so many features on small screen is mind blowing. Hat’s off to the designers at ultimate guitar for creating something so simple and affective to use.

Back to the task of writing this blog. I usually don’t enjoy doing up reports and essays for college, but something about this assignment felt different. I was able to write up a simple 300-word blog after I had done all my study. It was almost a peaceful thing to do to finish off the evening. 

Will I continue writing blogs? I don’t know, I feel doing this will help me be more confident if \i was asked to write up a blog for a potential job.

Alternative Apps

In the past few blogs, I've been discussing the ins and outs of the application and website Ultimate Guitar. I feel I wouldn't be doing my due diligence if I didn't give you some alternatives. In the last few day’s I have looked at the following websites of these two alternatives and tried them out personally.  Yousician: You have most likely seen this app advertised on YouTube. This would depends on your YouTube algorithms but for anyone who has ever looked up hoe to play a song on YouTube this is a very popular add. When entering the site to Yousician , It straight away asked me some useful questions. Features and personal use

  Earlier this year I began gigging again and decide I should go ahead and pay for the full membership of the Ultimate Guitar app. To say I am thrilled with the purchase is an understatement. The app has so many extra features that help anyone beginner or professional to learn a song that they want. Let’s discuss some features, shall we? Transposing: So, what is transposing? In general transposing is adjusting the key to the song either up or down. You may ask yourself why is this useful. The key reason this is useful is because if you haven’t got a high voice and you are learning some Queen then you may ant to lower the key pf the song to suit your own voice. Another reason why transposing is useful is when you are in a situation where you feel not too confident enough to play the song but need to play it in a gig situation.
