Software Review

As part of my assignment, I was asked to review two pieces of software used throughout this year’s IT professional skills module.

The most used software I used was the Teams platform. I had to join a team and use this platform to communicate with my fellow group.

Pros of Teams is its very useful to communicate. You can schedule a meeting and record the meeting very easily. As part of our assignment, we had to do a write up report. One of our team members began the report and was able to add the Microsoft word document to the team’s page and we could all access it very easily and, we could all edit it as we freely wanted to.  The main con I had was I didn’t know people had to turn on their notifications to see posts on the team page. A few times I uploaded something, and it took a day or two for people to notice.

SWAY was another software platform we used. This was my very first time using this software. I found it great in some ways but also a little tricky to use. The pros I have were again that it was extremely easy for all members of our group to edit their own part and upload it. The biggest con I would have would be the way SWAY is laid out during a presentation. Unlike typical slide shows the sway software doesn’t have individual slides but all one big slide. We felt sometimes our pictures were pushed aside and the text was missing off the side of the screen.

We looked at many software’s this year and they all had their pros and con. By far the most frustrating thing to overcome this year was using Microsoft authenticator to access everything in college.
